Dear Fellow Alumni, As salamualaikum and Greetings! The alumni association create a strong bond between the Departments and their alumni and contribute to the development of the departments through increased interaction and cooperation. I do hope that the DUCAA will do the same. It is well known to us that Chemistry alumni are well placed in various sectors inside and outside the country and serving their respective organization with honor, dignity and responsibility. They have also started significant contributions to the development, progress and prosperity of the newly formed Chemistry Alumni Association. The Department of Chemistry is one of the oldest department of University of Dhaka. However, its Alumni Association is youngest one which has been formed recently in 2017. I would like to express deep gratitude to Prof. Dr. Md. Giasuddin Ahmed, former Chairman of the Chemistry Department, who formed DUCAA in 1994. However, its activities were less visible until 2017. It must be mentioned here that Prof. Dr. Nilufar Nahar, the then Chairperson in 2017 activated the DUCAA in the present form. It was a privilege and I found immense pleasure to serve as Secretary General of the Association, for a 2-year term, as a member of the team of office bearers, we have tried to do our best to strengthen the bond between the Alumni and the Alma Mater. We were able to manage an office space for DUCAA and created the DUCAA website (www.ducaa.org). I do hope that the next phase would be to develop a directory of Alumni on the website. A heartfelt thanks to all who provided valuable feedback, helped and encouraged us in our endeavours.
